One Powerful Way to Get To Sleep

What is the single most effective thing you can do today, that will have a dramatic effect on, not only the quality of your sleep, but the quantity? You want to know right? Very few people are getting enough sleep....

According to the latest research from leading Neuroscientists, Light is the single most influential thing on our sleep. Because we evolved within a 24 hour circadian rhythm according to the turn of the Earth, our whole biology is linked to night and day. We are cemented into this rhythm. As is every cell in our body. We evolved to wake up, open our eyes, and see the early morning sun, rising low in the sky. An entire cascade of events then unfold inside of us, triggering a beautiful harmony of biology within us, as our day proceeds. The late evening light, then further triggers the finale of what is going to take us home, and asleep in our beds. However, our modern lifestyle, has taken us away from absorbing these light particles, the way it was intended. Neuroscientists know that, this has the single biggest effect on messing up our circadian 24 hour dance, setting our hormones off balance, our metabolism off balance, our hunger off, our natural ability to fall asleep and stay asleep.

Method

  • Wake up within 1/2 hours of sunrise

  • Go outside and allow the early morning light to enter your eye

  • No sunglasses (if safe for you)

  • The duration of time needed for enough photons to enter your eye depends on where in the world you live, and what the weather is like that morning. Somewhere between 10-30 minutes. You have to judge it.

With the low wave light, at a low angle in the sky, your body will then begin a complex chain of events that will ensure you feel sleepy later on that evening. It will also ensure a greater chance of staying asleep all night long.

Improvements

  • Keep lights dim later on in the late afternoon/evening

  • blue light filter needed on screens from late afternoon on

  • red light excellent for creating sleepy state

When I learned about this protocol some years ago now, I immediately implemented it, as I am a natural insomniac! I could not believe the dramatic effect it had on my sleep even after one day of doing this. The advice from the top scientists is, to do this every morning. Get your early morning light, straight into the eye, every day. Then to enhance this technique, dim your evening lights, creating a nice cave effect in your home. The power of this technique cannot be overstated here.

If you have struggled with insomnia, you will not recognise yourself fully rested. The effects on our body are second to none.
