Square Breathing For Anxiety

Anxiety. Feelings of fear, panic, nervousness and stress. The experience of being overwhelmed and the sense that you are 'unable to cope' in that anxious moment or in your life in general.

One effective piece to addressing your anxious nature, is to learnt to calm your body down. I have written before about the science of anxiety, so now I will skip to the skill.

Square Breathing

Imagine a square. Breathe in for 4 seconds. Pause for 4 seconds. Breathe out for 4 seconds. Pause for 4 seconds. And repeat.

This will calm your adrenal glands down, and send a clear body message to your brain to calm down. Just keep at it. Commit to it. It works.
